About & methodology

How we research and rate brokers.

BrokerAdvices is an independent research and comparison site. This page explains our standards so you can judge our work for yourself.

What we do

We help you research and compare Forex brokers and crypto exchanges — fees, platforms, funding methods and regulatory status — so you can make an informed decision before opening an account. We do not provide investment advice, and we do not execute trades.

Where our data comes from

  • Published terms. Fees, spreads, minimum deposits and platform details come from each provider’s own published pricing and legal documents.
  • Regulators’ registers. Licence and entity information is checked against the regulator’s official public register — not the broker’s marketing.
  • Our own testing. Where we test a platform ourselves, we say so.

Every fee or specification on the site shows its account context, a source link and the date we last verified it.

Verified facts vs. editorial assessment

We keep these separate. Facts (a spread, a licence number, a minimum deposit) are sourced and dated. Assessments (our score, advantages and disadvantages) are our opinion, labelled as such, and are never presented as fact.

How we score

An editorial score out of 10 is only published when we can document how it was reached. Our criteria are:

  1. Costs — typical spreads, commissions and fees in context, including funding and withdrawal charges.
  2. Regulation and client protection — the licensed entities, what they permit, and the limits of any protection.
  3. Platforms and tools — reliability, range and usability of the trading platforms offered.
  4. Funding and withdrawals — available methods, published processing terms and any restrictions.
  5. Transparency and support — clarity of terms, responsiveness and quality of disclosure.

Scores are never adjusted because of an affiliate arrangement.

Keeping information current

Financial information goes out of date quickly. Each broker’s data is re-checked on a regular cycle (at minimum every 90 days) and flagged internally when it is overdue. The “last verified” date on each page tells you how fresh the information is. If you think something is out of date or wrong, please tell us and we will review it promptly.

How we earn money

We may earn a commission when you open an account through some links on our site. This does not change the price you pay. Affiliate links are labelled, and sponsored placements are clearly marked. Lists are ordered only by the criterion you choose — a higher commission never moves a broker up. Read our full affiliate disclosure.

Limitations

We cannot cover every broker or every account type, and conditions differ by country and entity. Use our information as a starting point, confirm current terms with the provider, and read our risk disclaimer.
